קַתָּא
קַתָּאch. sam(קתּ handle, helve). B. Mets.82a; Shebu.43b ההיא דאוזפיה … ק׳ דמגלאוכ׳ if one lends to his neighbor a thousand Zuz, and the latter leaves as a pledge the handle of a saw; אבד ק׳וכ׳ if the handle is lost, the loan is lost. Ib. אבל ק׳ ונסכא but if he deposits a handle and a silver bar. B. Mets. 103a מהדר ליה קַתֵּיה he returns to him the handle (of the broken mattock). Snh.27b top, v. בּוּרְטְיָא; a. e.Pl. קַתַּיָּא, קַתָּתָא, קַתָּתֵי. Pes.30b קַתַּיְיהוּ בטינאוכ׳ cover the helves of the knives with clay Bets.33b; Yoma 37b, v. נַרְגָּא. Shebu. l. c. קתתי Ms. M. (ed. קִתָּאתֵי).
